Managing your monthly television expenses has never been easier, especially when you want to trim down on channels you no longer watch. If you are looking to cut down your monthly DTH bill by removing a paid television channel or broadcaster pack from your Airtel Digital TV connection, you can do it within a few minutes.

Multiple straightforward methods let you unsubscribe from an Airtel DTH channel, ranging from smartphone apps to traditional SMS options.

Method 1: Using the Airtel Thanks App (Easiest & Fastest)

The Airtel Thanks app provides a transparent, visual interface where you can view your entire active channel lineup and drop whatever you don’t need.

  1. Launch the App: Open the Airtel Thanks app on your smartphone (ensure you are logged in using your registered mobile number).
  2. Navigate to DTH: Tap on the Manage or DTH section on the home screen to access your digital TV account.
  3. Select Change Plan: Look for options like Modify Pack, Change Plan, or Manage Channels.
  4. View Existing Subscriptions: Go to your active or existing plan list to see all individual a-la-carte channels and broadcaster bouquets currently running on your box.
  5. Deselect the Channel: Find the specific channel you wish to remove and tap Remove or uncheck it.
  6. Review and Confirm: Check the updated monthly summary and click Confirm / Proceed. The channel will typically drop from your subscription list within a few minutes.

Method 2: Via SMS (Quick & No Internet Required)

If you do not have active internet access or prefer using text messages, you can use the official Airtel SMS command service.

  1. Find the Channel Number: Note down the exact channel number of the channel you want to remove.
  2. Draft the Message: Type an SMS in the following format:
    REM <Channel Number> (For example: REM 125)
  3. Send to: Send this text message to 54325 from your Registered Mobile Number (RMN).
  4. Confirmation: You will receive a return SMS asking you to confirm the deletion or notifying you that the channel has been successfully removed from your pack.

Note: If you are sending the text from a non-registered mobile number, you may need to append your Airtel Digital TV Customer ID to the message text as instructed by customer service guidelines.

Method 3: Via the Official Airtel Website

If you prefer managing your account on a larger screen, you can use a web browser on your laptop or phone.

  1. Go to the official Airtel website and log into your account using your registered mobile number or DTH Customer ID.
  2. Head over to the Digital TV / DTH section.
  3. Select Manage TV Channels or Edit Current Plan.
  4. Unselect the unwanted paid channels from your active list and review the revised pricing summary.
  5. Hit Confirm to lock in your changes.

Method 4: Directly Through Your TV Screen (Channel 998)

You can modify your subscription pack straight from your television remote without needing a smartphone:

  1. Turn on your TV and Airtel DTH set-top box, and tune into Channel No. 998.
  2. The screen will load the interactive Airtel self-care and help menu.
  3. Use the directional arrow keys on your remote to navigate to the Modify Pack / Add-Remove Channels section.
  4. Select the channels you want to drop.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to generate a confirmation code, then text that code from your registered mobile number to 54325 to execute the change.
